Pastor Steve Stephens is a 1978 graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa. He and his wife, Rachel, began their ministry with a gathering of people in their living room in 1981. Word of Life moved into their current building in 1982. Pastor Steve has been married to Rachel for 30 years and they have 3 grown children; Jason is 26, and twins Amy and Erin are 23. He hails from Ohio and met Rachel while they were both attending Mt. Vernon Bible College. They both went on to attend Rhema and graduated together.
	Rachel Stephens has been involved in the ministry at Word of Life since the beginning. When the church was first started, there was no Sunday School. Since she was the mother of three little ones, Rachel’s first task was to get a Sunday School and Nursery program started. From there it has evolved and now she is Pastor Steve’s assistant, head of the Women’s ministry, and her busiest job is church decorator.
	Diane Borders is the Youth Pastor at Word of Life. She and her husband Curt oversee all the youth events of the “Bighouse” Youth. From Bible studies, church camp, and missions trips to the Dominican Republic, Curt and Diane are never bored. Diane also spends many hours each week working with, visiting, and counseling with teenagers in her office. She and Curt are expecting their 8th grandchild.
	Curt Borders leads the Bighouse Band worship team and oversees all the Youth Dept. audio, video, and computer equipment. He works hand in hand with Diane, helping her oversee all the details of working with and loving our youth. Curt and Diane have been married for 28 years and have five children and seven grandchildren (and another on the way).
	Norma Cross-Williams is the Church Administrator. Before joining the staff at Word of Life in 1988, she had worked 30 years in management at AT&T, so her extensive business background is a real God-send! Norma is Rachel’s mom, therefore Pastor Steve’s mother-in-law. She was married to her husband Charley Cross for almost 56 years and after his death she married Jim Williams. Norma and Jim love traveling the United States to see all their combined grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
	Mary Endress is the Accountant at Word of Life. She is married to Chris (who is a special agent with the Illinois State Police) and they have three of the most beautiful children in the world! Chris is active in the church as an Usher and Mary heads up the Nursery Dept. She is a real joy to have in the office and her upbeat attitude keeps everyone positive.
	Roxanne Carns is the Church Secretary and all around blessing! She does everything from counting the offerings, to running errands for everyone. If you call Word of Life, it will most likely be Roxanne’s pleasant voice that greets you. She is married to “Jeep” and they have 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters and recently had their first grandson.
	Rick Toom is the Custodian for Word of Life. We appreciate Rick’s servant’s heart and his helpful attitude..not to mention how clean he keeps the building! Rick is married to Mary and they have a grown son and 10 year old daughter.
